INTRODUCTION TO THE BAND

If you are new to Psyclone, and their music, let us introduce first of all Frances Perry, computer nut and sample designer.

Fran discovered the alternative way of making music a few years ago. As the rave scene was begining to grow, Fran grew with it. Intrigued with the psychedelic culture it was inevitable that the trance crowd won her attention.......and that, as they say, changed her life forever.

Alien Trance Fiend Frans role in Psyclone is mostly creating soundscapes and samples although she has an active role in writing and production (Fran wrote the track Voodoo on the album Spaced - one of her proudest achievements). Fran is currently working on two tracks for the next release.

To sum up, Fran is both brilliant and a little scary sometimes, both easy-going and volatile. She is most definitely the backbone of Psyclone.

Now let's look at Steve Woolgar. Steve is Frans brother and also the guy who introduced Fran to the trance scene (little did he realise what he had let himself in for!) Steve, being a little older, had been involved in one way or another with the Psychedelic scene for some time. Although not a musician himself, he really wanted to be involved and had a big input in the creation of Psyclone. Steve's role is in raw samples, design and visual art (Steve designed the album cover) and he is the official band photographer.

Steve is borderline genius/asylum case with a heart of gold. He does not understand the words "can't do" and there would be no 'S' in Psyclone without him.

And then there is Ray Perry - husband to Fran - who, from time to time, has been one of the most talked about musicians in his field, and there have been many fields! With two internationally known bands and a string of albums to his credit Ray was ready to try something completely new to him - computer music.

The likes of Simon Posford, Eat Static and Infected Mushroom, along with Fran and Steves gentle brainwashing, convinced Ray that Psyclone was the answer. (He can't remember what the question was though!) Rays role in the band is to write, arrange and produce the tracks. Ray is both dedicated and emotional. He does what he does! A major talent in the psychedelic music field.

Of course we couldn't do what we do without a little help from our friends, (most of whom get a mention on Steves beautifully designed CD cover), but some really deserve a mention here too. First of all Dawn Shepherd. Without Dawns help Psyclone could not be a 'band on the road'. She takes care of all our mail (amongst other things) and provides us with a base in England. Nothing is ever too much trouble and she is always glad to help. Dawn has been a staunch supporter of Psyclone and also of our slightly crazy travelling life, her faith in us and her love and support are invaluable. We are constantly in her debt.

Secondly our Web Designer Bharat webmeister Semlyen.net. It's totally thanks to them that you are reading this and exploring our wonderful website. Without this site Psyclone would not be able to reach a wider audience and you would not be able to buy our brilliant album!
